To Calculate Your Costs

| Here are costs of an Average Art Stamp using the costs shown below. Your Stamp size may be slightly different. Small Stamps will cost a little More and Large Stamps will be slightly Less but it should average out at approximately 20 Cents per square inch overall. To figure Your costs use the figures below for the size of stamp you are making, ADD them up like above and then MULTIPLY the Cost Per Sq. In. by the size of the stamp in square inches. For instance if
you are making Art Stamps that are 2"x 2" then that is a total of 4 sq.
inches x 0.198 cents per square inch equals $0.792 cents for the entire stamp including
the wooden mount. If you sell Un-mounted stamps then DEDUCT the
price of
the Mount and the Red Cushion Mounting ($0.0923 cents per sq. in.) which leaves a cost of $0.106 Cents per sq. Inch or a cost of $0.423
cents for a total cost on your 2"x 2" Un-mounted stamp. 11 Cents per
square inch is a really low cost for Un-mounted stamps and you should be able to do some excellent business at these prices. In this way you will have a very good idea of your actual costs NOT Counting Your time spent and a few small other expenses such as electricity, clean up supplies, etc. Your costs are VERY COMPETITIVE with most rubber stamp shops in the U.S.A. These shops buy at your approximate costs also but they will have a much greater overhead and labor cost so you can compete with just about anyone and make money. |
